Don’t Waste It: Irmo Glass Recycling Program

Unlike many products used by consumers today, glass is 100% recyclable. The biggest obstacle is finding a location to recycle it, an obstacle the Town of Irmo is overcoming thanks to a partnership with SC DHEC and Lexington County.

The Town now accepts glass for recycling through the Don’t Waste It program, funded by a grant from SC DHEC. The program provides an option for preserving our community and encouraging glass recycling right here in Irmo.  Community members, including businesses located in the Town of Irmo, can bring acceptable glass to the designated drop off station behind Town Hall to be recycled. Please note there is no curbside pick up for glass recycling; all glass materials submitted for recycling must be brought to the collection station.

Let’s change our relationship with glass material. See it as a resource and Don’t Waste It!
