Irmo Police Department
The Irmo Police Department currently has 26 sworn and other civilian personnel working for the Town of Irmo. Administrative staff, investigators, patrol officers, code enforcement, victim’s advocate and reserve officers all support the mission of the Irmo Police Department. The town is unique in design and is located within both Lexington and Richland Counties. The mission of the Irmo Police Department is to enhance the quality of life within the Town of Irmo by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the United States Constitution to preserve the peace and provide for a safe environment for all persons. Essential to the success of this mission is being sensitive to the needs of the community, service to the community, interaction with its citizens, being community based problem solvers, adhering to high ethical standards of conduct and administering not only the letter of the law but the spirit of the law.

The Community Services Division is presently made up of three police officers including a Sergeant.
The Patrol Division is made up of 16 officers . There are 4 shifts led by a Sergeant. The Sergeants strive to insure proper patrol coverage within the town limits of Irmo 24/7.
CID is tasked with following up on leads in criminal cases. The Criminal Investigations Division is available to respond at any time, day or night, to scenes of any incident.
The Office of Professional Standard’s (OPS) purpose is to ensure that the honor and integrity of the Irmo Police Department is maintained.
