Employment Opportunities

The Irmo Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer until this position is filled. Applicants must meet certain requirements of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. A background investigation, physical exam and drug screen will be required. The pay band for this position is $35,000-$38,000. Salary based on experience and education. A $2,500 signing bonus will be given to applicants that are hired with at least 3 years of law enforcement experience and that are currently certified through the SCCJA as a Class 1 Officer. The Town of Irmo offers a housing subsidy of $500 per month to police officers who live within the corporate town limits of Irmo. Take home vehicles are offered to officers who live within 20 miles of the town. Insurance and other benefits are available.
