Assistant Administrator, Town of Irmo

Position Category: Administration
Position Hours:
Full time, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some after hour meetings and occasional work on weekends

Job Duties:

  • Under limited supervision, performs professional administrative and supervisory work in the planning, direction, and coordination of the administrative and operational activities of the Town. Assists with budget formulation and management, public relations, planning and zoning, policy formulation, project management, communication with Council, customer service, fleet management, and strategic planning.
  • Will be the Town’s GIS Manager responsible for mapping, parcel validation and geocoding with emphasis on the census, annexations and zoning (training / certification through ESRI).
  • Will manage all Town fixed assets to include vehicles, equipment, real property and ensure compliance to GASB standards. Assists in planning and coordination of Town events. Works with the Police Department and Code Enforcement to ensure all laws and ordinances are enforced.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field with four to five years of experience in governmental policy and procedure; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in a team environment. Works with various Federal, State, and other local agencies. Ability to prepare, manage, and administer both grants and other contractual obligations.
  • Has thorough knowledge of planning and formulation of departmental budgets and monitoring related expenditures. Ability to review site plans and other construction related documents to check conformity with existing laws and ordinances.

Pay Info:  Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
