Clerk of Court, Town of Irmo

Position Category: Courts
Position Hours:
Full time, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with evening work on Wednesdays for court

Job Duties:

  • Work involves organizing, coordinating, and tracking court proceedings from the beginning of a written citation to the fruition of disposition of the citation.
  • Extracting data for reporting to State Agencies and various factions within the Town’s organization.
  • Handling all monies coming into the court systems and court budget; tracking individuals within the deferment programs; performing record retention/destruction; speaking with the public and guiding them through the court process.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of court and bookkeeping experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Experience with Incode and CMS preferred.

Pay Info:

$45,000 – $70,000 annually

Business License/Zoning Clerk, Town of Irmo

Position Category: Clerical
Position Hours:
Full time, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Job Duties:

  • Processes and maintains business license, hospitality tax, and rental applications. Reviews and approves zoning applications. Answers questions from the general public concerning zoning requirements.
  • Assists applicants in completing business licenses, hospitality tax, rental applications and determining license fees based on classification and gross receipts. Works closely with the Code Enforcement Officer on issues pertaining to the zoning ordinance and business license ordinance. Schedules, attends and takes minutes for the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings.
  • Meets with town residents, contractors, engineers, architects, realtors, etc. concerning new projects being constructed within the town limits. Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as business license applications, zoning permit applications, banner permit applications, hospitality tax, rentals and request for zoning verification letter.

Qualifications:

  • Requires an Associate’s degree in business, bookkeeping or related field supplemented by two to three years of responsible bookkeeping, clerical and/or customer service work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of Incode software preferred, but not required.

Pay Info:

$40,500 – $50,500 annually
