First Responders Memorial

SCOPE OF WORK

The request for proposal is an opportunity to design and construct a First Responder’s Memorial to be located at 1230 Columbia Avenue, Irmo, South Carolina.  The memorial will be a focal point of honor and tribute in a prominent public space adjacent to our police department and near a fire station (Exhibit B).  It will include a 10-foot stone obelisk, strategically positioned to ensure its visibility and accessibility.  The obelisk will include sandblasted emblems representing the Irmo Police Department, Irmo Fire Department, and Town of Irmo (Exhibit C).  The design will feature a minimum of four (4) curved bench-style seating areas for reflecting that are at least 4-foot in length.  The project shall include lighting for the memorial and ADA accessibility to the site with connectivity to an adjacent parking lot.  There will be at least a 25-foot (round or square) patio area around the obelisk with inscribed bricks (bricks will be sold by a committee).  This memorial shall have the ability to add names or markers in the future for others that we may choose.  We envision the memorial to embody the spirit of courage, strength, and community unity while paying respect to our first responders who are here now and who have passed.
