Skate Park
The Irmo Skate Park Committee is partnering with the Town of Irmo to build a new concrete skate park in the Friarsgate neighborhood. The Town of Irmo and the Friarsgate Skate Park Committee have partnered to build a community skatepark for all athletes, adaptive athletes, first-time athletes, and curious locals wanting to try skateboarding. The skatepark will be a concrete cast-in-place built by a reputable design-build company. The Rawls Creek Park is located on a total of 9 acres and will have several amenities.
The Town of Irmo is funding the infrastructure of the entire park, including sidewalks, drainage, lighting, parking lots, bathrooms, and upkeep. This park will be accessible to over 3,000 children in the Friarsgate neighborhood. This skatepark will provide our community with outdoor recreation that is accessible for free to everyone including physically disabled/ adaptive athletes. This park will increase property values, increase revenue for local businesses, attract tourism, and improve the overall health of the community.
